In 1999, Gotthard supported the campaign for donations of the Telethon foundation with “Merry Xmas”. Last year, the band performed unplugged, for the first time with Nic Maeder, accompanied by G-Strings Quartet, live in the Glass Box, for the JRZ 2012 event. It is important to the band to carry on with this tradition and to help children in need.
This unique live recording from “Merry Xmas” will be available as a free download from 2nd. to 31st. of December here on the Gotthard website. CLICK HERE
At the same time, the band wants to appeal to their fans to support this year’s campaign “Jeder Rappen zählt” 2013 for children in slums.
“Jeder Rappen zählt” 2013: for Children in slums
At this point, Gotthard would like to thank their fans, especially those who have stood by them in all the years through highs and lows and have always supported them. The band wishes them and their families a pleasant Advent and happy festive days!
Intensive work on the new album.
Currently in Ticino the cables are getting hot. Gotthard is working at high pressure in their Yellow-House-Studio to complete the successor to Firebirth, and the second studio album with Nic Maeder. It is co-produced by Charlie Bauerfeind and Leo Leoni. It will be mixed in the Wisseloord Studios with Ronald Prent, who was also responsible for the successful albums “Lipservice” and “Domino Effect”.
The Album will be distributed worldwide for the first time by PIAS, the Partner label of Musikvertrieb. The publication of the new album is planned for the beginning of April 2014. After that the band will be rocking at summer festivals all over Europe, followed by a Headliner World Tour in the autumn!
In 2013, Gotthard played 7 shows, which included the 70,000 Tons Metal Cruise in the Caribbean, the Tollwood Festival in Munich, the Rock’n’Road Happening in Bellinzona in front of more than 12,000 fans, and at the Lighthouse Gala in the opera house in Zürich. But most of the time, the band were occupied with songwriting and studio work and now they can hardly wait for next year to present their new album live on stage and to warm up their fans again.
